Void World Boss
Void Boss
Void Boss is a World Boss event, but unlike Edge and Wildy Boss, it has multiple waves, and is more difficult to defeat. It also only appears once every 5 hours and 10 minutes. It is a safe death, however, and after dying you'll respawn right outside the Void Boss portal. The top 10 players (damage-count) will receive one of its unique rewards. Like all World Bosses, Void Boss will escape if not killed within 25 minutes after spawning.
Requirements
To enter the Void Boss arena, you'll need a World Boss kill count of 20 or higher. You gain World Boss kc by defeating Edge or Wildy Boss, and your current kc can be checked in the Combat Tasks tab.
Getting there
To get to the Void Boss arena, simply type ::voidboss
and enter the portal.
The 5 waves
The Void World Boss consists of five waves, each getting increasingly stronger. The five waves are described below.
Wave | NPC | HP |
---|---|---|
1 | Void Halberdier | 1000 |
2 | Void Foot Soldier | 1500 |
3 | Void Mage, Archers | 1500, 100 |
4 | Void Knight | 3000 |
5 | Void Champion | 2000 |
-
Halberdier (Wave 1)
-
Foot Soldier (Wave 2)
-
Mage (Wave 3)
-
Archer (Wave 3)
-
Knight (Wave 4)
-
Champion (Wave 5)
Strategies
Wave 1 - Halberdier
In the first wave you'll only have to face the Void Halberdier. This is the easiest of the waves. Protect from Melee if you're being attacked. This one could still be done solo without dying.
Wave 2 - Foot Soldier
In wave two you'll face the Void Foot Soldier, who is basically a stronger version of the Halberdier. Protect from Melee again if you're under attack. After this wave is where it gets tough.
Wave 3 - Mage & Rangers
When wave three starts, it will only be the Void Mage attacking. She puts out powerful Magic attacks, so Protect from Magic at the start. After a little while, the Mage spawns a bunch of Void Rangers, who will then attack players with strong Ranged attacks. Due to the bigger amount of Rangers, you might want to switch to Protect from Missiles. It is recommended to focus on killing the Mage first, as she can spawn multiple batches of Rangers during the wave. Unless you're playing with a large group, you'll almost surely die once during this stage, and a strong group of players is recommended to take this wave on.
Wave 4 - Knight
The fourth wave only contains one enemy, but not just any enemy. The Void Knight attacks with Melee and has incredible defensive stats, making it the longest wave of the five. It is recommended to use defense-lowering special attacks like that of the Bandos Godsword, Dragon Warhammer or Statius Warhammer, until at least a few have hit. This makes the wave a lot easier and faster. Without the special attacks, be prepared for a long one.
Wave 5 - Champion
The final wave has you compete with no other than the Void Champion. The Champion can deal severe and rapid damage, so Protect from Melee and try to run away from him if you can! It's easier to do damage to it than to the Knight, but pay close attention! If you die and hence exit the arena at the same time the Champion dies, you will not get rewarded, as you must be in the arena in order to get a drop. This is why it's recommended to run away when you get attacked and keep some food in your inventory, just in case.
Rewards
The Void Boss has some highly anticipated rewards which differ from the other two world bosses. You'll also receive 50 Guild points for helping defeat Void Boss (100 if MVP). Find all its possible drops in the table below.
Misc. Rewards
Void Seal
When the Void Boss is defeated and you receive your loot, you have a 1/5 chance to obtain a Void Seal. Void Seals are used to create Void weapon and armour tokens, which are then used for end-game upgrades at the Upgrade Manager.
Void Champion pet
Players could get lucky and receive the Void Champion pet as loot from the Void Boss. If you have the pet deployed when the Void Boss is defeated, you'll receive 2x rolls on the loot table.
